It is. Honestly I don't care much for PMD's gameplay but the story makes it (R/B and Explorers) better than any other Pokemon game.

PMD are overrated shit. The gameplay is slow and cluncky as fuck, the concept of level design is not a thing in them, everything looks boring and there's nothing fun to explore, you're forced to use a NFE, the team you can make is smaller and so on. There's not a single place, not a single thing where PMD exceed the main series. Even the music shit most of the time, compared to the main series.

And the stories are overrated as fuck. I won't say they're bad. They're not. They're far better than anything the main series had, before SM. But they're still no masterpiece. The pacing is especially SHIT, and most of the characters are just kind of boring. Especially in everything pre-3DS. But because they MUH TRAGIC AND SAD STORIES, faggots treat them as the ultimate form of story. You know, to act like faggots who "deep and refined taste" because they like this type of story. And even that is no longer a PMD thing. You can't even compare any PMD story to SM's. The level of detail is different that PMD looks just cute in front of it.

Someone needs to say this from time to time. Most of those who play PMD either love it or HATE it. Those who love it sing its praise. There's no one to just say fuck PMD because those who hate it never finish it. The story is especially overrated because of this. Even those who drop it can at least criticize the gameplay. They can't criticize the story, because they don't know the story.

So while this post didn't exactly criticize the story properly, just the statement on how it's kind of shit is nice to hear. PMD, especially the Explorers of Time/Darkness/Sky have the Clannad effect. You know they're shit, everyone know they're shit, but they're sad, so everyone looks past the shit.
