Electric/Ghosts with the stats of the other Rotom Forms. Doesn't get a special move, much like the base form, but now you can have a Rotom Form that can enjoy STAB Shadow Ball/Hex and block rapid spin.

What if it had a function like in Kingdom Hearts 2 with Mickey? Say in important battles (trial captains/totem pokemon/elite four) your pokemon all faint, Rotomdex says something like "Don't give up!" And suddenly you can use it. Electric/ghost or Electric/steel, mostly moves like nuzzle, zing zap, etc, low bp but can cause status, couldn't really ever knock out a pokemon but can essentially battle for you while you revive/heal your main team

Honestly the only reason I can think of that really makes sense as to why you can't use it is damage to the Dex itself. I can't imagine the thing is too sturdy, I don't see the screen surviving a stone edge unscathed.

I love the concept but they totally dropped the ball when it came to implementing it. I was expecting there to be some in-story reason for it to exist and for it to be at least slightly plot relevant (it's a fucking talking Pokémon, you'd think this would be a bigger deal), but it's pretty clear they only included it because Yo-kai Watch has its Pokédex equivelant as its own character, so of course Pokémon needs one too.

Okay, here's my feelings on the matter: I think we all expected something else from this thing than what we got. Then again, the giant red flag was over the matter that it tells you where to go. My guess is that the mechanics of the game didn't really allow them to do anything else with it. Though why it couldn't be used as a pokemon in battle was a missed opportunity. (I would've made it Electric/Psychic) Maybe the matter that it wasn't being kept in a ball prevented that, too. However, that brings up something that should shatter any previously held perception of the pokemon world: someone has a pokemon on them and it's not in a ball. AND NO ONE DOES OR SAYS ANYTHING ABOUT IT.

Anyway, I'm sure people were expecting a helper sort of thing in that aspect, and that is what we got in the end. There was too much emphasis put on the matter that it was a talking pokemon, though. They said that we would communicate with pokemon in a way never seen before. ALL IT WAS WAS A TALKING POKEMON, THAT'S IT. Technically, they are right, and this hasn't been seen in the games until this point. People were expecting to be able to understand ANY pokemon. Again, I think the only reason why it doesn't exist is because it doesn't fit with the mechanics of the game. There really isn't any opportunity to interact with your pokemon other than the Refresh. What would you expect anyway? I mean, I don't believe there is any chance of a Xenoblade-esque bonding moment here. What do you want your pokemon to say to you? I'm curious. If this were HG/SS's walking pokemon, I'd expect to see them say something about the environment or something. Or to have some kind of flavor text depending on how well you've bonded with them. (same as Dr. Footstep, could be expanded) It could've been done, but for some reason, they didn't. Maybe they had already worked everything else to the limit. I wouldn't get too hopeful for an expansion.

Finally, there's the Poke-Finder, which was a neat concept, but again, not what people expected. They still could've done it, even it was just one location at a time. There is even at least one instance where you can get more than one pokemon in the same shot. Most of the time the pokemon don't even really do much, or it's a crapshoot on whether you can get the right shot for them. It's also way too demanding on how you upgrade it, or at least there needs to be a way you can score big on any pokemon. Oh lord, would it be amazing if this feature was improved, but I expect it to be canned because it was a throwaway concept to start with. Was this what was so fun about Snap, since I never played it, and I've only seen it played. Trying to find out how to get pokemon to do the right pose for you or to just put them into certain situations. Or just hanging out with pokemon and watch them go? If so, SNAP NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
