I didn't like BW2 solely because things were getting increasingly competitive after Gen 4 and making pentaperfect Pokemon was still very close to retarded levels of RNG and effort. I really wanted to do PWT with actual good mons, but I couldn't, so to me it was a bit of a waste. I also didn't have internet at the time so I couldn't gen good ones.

One thing Gen 6 did was fix that and drastically increase Pokemon availability. So much that it didn't really leave much to do in Gen 7. It didn't have much else though.

One things for sure. ORAS was actually not that bad. And Friend Safari in XY was a fun social experiment if you didn't have a shit safari like I did.

At this point I'd go as far as saying that ORAS are the best Pokemon games on the 3DS, followed by SM and with XY a very, very, VERY distant third because of how awful the characters of Kalos are. The whole no Battle Frontier shitstorm gave the games a far worse rep than they actually deserved.

Exactly. The DexNav itself is worth a shit ton of credit. Unlike many other Pokemon games, it did its job of actually making Pokemon accessible. It's also the first one to legitimately let you catch a mythical without any special requirements. Battle Frontier would've been cool and I would've like to see how it changed with the introduction of Megas, but not having it doesn't make the game shit.

Also the whole Omega/Alpha themes worked really well with Groudon and Kyogre and Gen 6.

Well, the GBA was a terrible console with shit colour and sound texture which doesn't help, but most of it is original fans becoming teenagers during that time leading them to reject pokemon entirely, plus lashing out at the games upon finding that you couldn't transfer your bros from johto to hoenn. In ORAS they fixed the encounter rate in the water and improve the the surf speed, they improve the plot and the evil teams making them look a little less asanine.
HGSS has terrible pokemon availability, for the most part the best pokemon you can find in the start and middle of the game need to be trade or a evolutionary stone to reach they final form, that would not be as much of an issue if there was a reliable way get the stones while you are in Johto or the eviolite had been introduced in that generation.
HGSS is really easy until you reach the pokemon league, where you find a difficulty spike that forces to grind a lot in case you were using full team of 6 pokemon, that difficulty spike feel artificial and is annoying, because having to grind the beat a game doesn't make it more challenging, only more time consuming but I understand that this was designed to be played using a team of 3 pokemon that do the actual battle and the other 3 that work as HM slaves, actually scrap that, the more efficient way to play HGSS is using only Feraligarth who can solo the game with no problems.

Oh yeah one more thing I forgot, HGSS introduced an area near the safari zone where you can fight wild dittos and they have a good chance of appearing, that improves the grinding a little, but if you don't know that you have to grind on the Victory Road, were most things give you very few experience.

Surf Speed was never an issue. The encounter rate in water was not as big an issue as the encounter table being shit and that wasn't addressed. The one thing I thought was addressed was finally battling your rival with fully evolved mons.

The evo stones are given by pokegear calls which isn't perfect but helps. The level spike isn't much of an issue as you make it out to be. Silver's ace in your last match pre-E4 is the same level as the weakest E4 pokemon, which is the same as the rivals in the Kanto and Sinnoh games. In the Hoenn, Unova, Kalos and Alola games they are actually slightly underleveled.
