Hello /vp/. I missed the hype train completely on this, and I only started playing it today. Is it good, or should I expect disappointment? Also, Rowlet is the best designed starter in ages I love it
People can shit on SM all they want but it'll always be better than XY.
But yes it's good.
Play it and find out.
Your starter taste is ok i guess
I like it, but I agree with the criticism there's an overload of cutscenes and no postgame.

Yes. Expect a huge disappointment, around 50% of gameplay that is just transitions and cutscenes, lazy designed routes with nothing to do, Kanto pandering everywhere, most mons you encounter will be Kanto/Alola shitmons (because who wants to have fun, right?), bland and boring dialogue and character aswell as the shittiest postgame to date featuring the worst "legendary" designs the franchise has yet to see, seriously the genies are gods gift compared to this. Overall this is a huge turd that somehow still sold well.
It's okay, but you won't be playing it much after you finish it.

>Kanto pandering everywhere
Honestly it nowhere near as bad as it was in XY. At least alola has an excuse for it
>>32479791
Kanto pandering? Do you mean like, an over abundance of gen 1 Pokémon?
>>32479800
>what is online battling
>>32479818
I already played that for years, I'm bored of it.

>implying that other people don't enjoy it because you don't

That but there's endless mention of Kanto, some new forms for Kanto Pokemon, a nugget bridge replica etc. Just like in X/Y. It gets really stale and almost forced after a while. It's like they like to pretend Kanto is the only region that exists and the other regions are just there to reference it.
Better than Gen 6 and 1, but worse than 4's remakes and sister game and gen 5. On par with ruby/sapphire but worse than emerald IMO.
