It becomes centralizing and is banned from Smogon.
VGC becomes even more cancerous; you will find it on every team to reverse the enemy's item. Fast Pokémon will end up holding it.
Unless you bumped it down to one turn, then it might be useful but balanced imo, especially for VGC.

Trick room and trick room accesories get better.

If the item triggers the trick room at the end of the turn (like toxic orb and such), knock off becomes even better

Why would it not be an ability for a mon with 80-90 base speed?
I think we'll never get an auto trick room setter because it's way too powerful, I do believe it's way too much than any weather or terrain because if your team is made for it, it's not only a boost to it, but a nerf to the enemy if theirs is not.
Despite on your opinion on Trick Room itself, once it gets setup properly (say like people are doing with Uxie where they setup then Memento) it becomes a game of "There's 3 turns of Trick Room after my Swords Dance, choose your 3 sacks".
If that suddenly becomes the face of the game, it would be insane. I wouldn't mind an item that EXTENDS TR whoever.
