Why not making Sicily the post game area like that island in Sinnoh was? Or better, taking Sardinia and making it another post game island.

Also +1 for Italy based region. Perfect mix of climatic regions. North to the mountainous alps with snow on it's peaks and south sicily with the subtropy feeling. Some wasteland/deserts on the mid, many beaches, three or four volcanos, the most amount of RL history with the rome mythology and gods perfectly fitting for a gen 4 remake, all the awesome looking cities etc.
