More like these?
>>32464444
but pidgipek looks the same
These are pretty cool and cute. I hope there are more.
>>32464444
these make me feel sad and old.
>>32464444
I like Vulpix, Zorua and Krabby, the other 3 can get fucked.
Nothing changed i dont get it.
Does anyone have the pic of stereotypical Pokémon Gens 1-4?
>>32464673
This one?
New gen Electabuzz
>>32464867
this DOES seem pretty accurate
but the gen 1 one lacks the weird "limb slabs" as I like to call them
pic related; they're the things on Kangaskhan's legs that are also found several other Pokemon
>>32464879
You know Alakazam is gen 1, right?
>>32464867
Has this been updated at all for newer gens?
>>32464867
Make the Gen 3 one another Gen 2 one and the Gen 4 one a Gen 3 Pokemon.
>>32465140
This is accurate.
>>32465140
kek
>>32465140
I know this is for fun but all gens have gigantic heads. Squirtle's is colossal in comparison to a turtle, while Tirtouga is more in line.
>>32465140
I don't get the gen V one.
>>32465692
Objectmons
>>32465692
There was a lot of inanimate object-based mons in gen. 5 like the trash bags, snow cones, gears, the sarcophagus, and the candles and lamps.
>>32465140
Gold
>>32464893
how did I not notice these before
>>32465710
Gen V had around the same numbers of objectmons as gen 1.
>>32465728
Such as
>>32465728
Gen 1 only had 2(TWO) objectmons lines both only having 1 evolution
>>32465692
Actually it's about Unova being New York.
>>32465140
This is freaking accurate.
>>32465763
Magnets, Pile of Slime, Landmine, Pokéball
>>32464893
Osteoderms?
>>32464893
Those "limb slabs" are supposed to look like mongol armor.
>>32464967
Nah, Gen 4 is perfect. So many Pokemon had colored eyes, blue/dark colors, were fat, and had spikes.
>>32464867
>gen 1 mon
>no curls or tails
>>32466448
Aside from the obvious copy of golbat and dragonite, it looks much better than the original, props to whoever made this
>>32466475
It does.
Fuck, now I hate the official design. :(
>>32465581
You are a disgusting manchild for saving and reusing that **~FUnNy~*** picture ahah
>>32466410
Why do Blastoise and Venusaur have them then
>>32467021
>Venusaur
Those are warts, anon.
>>32467175
Gen 2 Simisear?
>>32467279
Early gen, so yeah.
>>32465763
Magnemite/Magneton
Voltorb/Electrode
Geodude and Graveler
Grimer/Muk
Ditto
I'll let Porygon slide because it's shaped like a bird.
You want this kind of stuff, right?
>>32465649
Shhh, let them cherrypick
>>32465745
Generation 1
1 Geodude line
2 Magnemite line
3 Voltorb line
4 Exeggcute
5 Koffing line
6 Ditto
Generation 5
1 Roggenrolla line
2 Yamask line
3 Trubbish line
4 Vanillite line
5 Klink line
6 Litwick line
7 Cryogonal
>>32467807
you forgot porygon
>>32464867
I don't understand this one.
>>32467807
>>32467832
And Grimer/Muk
>>32467807
Koffing and Weezing are not objects.
They're more subtle than an ice cream cone
>>32468389
There's nothing subtle about them. They're literally just floating sea mines.
Genwars should be outlawed
>>32468945
They're not sea mines. They fucking float.
They're condensed poisonous gases
>>32467175
they had to appeal to americans
tips if you are trying to draw newgen pokemon as oldgen
>>32469283
>>32466258
they still looked like monsters based on how they were drawn though
>>32464444
Only the Crabby/Crabrawler look believable, the other are trying way too hard to follow the same idea.
>>32468389
>>32469254
You can't say both that Vanillite line are ice cream and deny Koffing line is based on sea mines.
Vanillite line is not ice cream. They just look like that. Koffing line look like poison gas, but they're sea mines.
>>32465140
Add a random circle or symbol of sorts on the chicken's wing in gen 3 and I can agree.
>>32465728
>>32465745
its not the "objectmons" that are the problem its literally how they are designed.
pokemon in newer generations look like fucking toys. they are designed specifically so it is easier to make merchandise of them. its why gen 1 merch tends to look so goofy since its hard to properlly portray the realistic anatomical details and complex linework that comes with so many pokemon.
>>32469320
>they are designed specifically so it is easier to make merchandise of them
Absolute bollocks, you fucking autist
>>32466475
>Keeps the puppet mouths
It doesn't fix the only problem with Hydreigon though, all it did was giving it bat wings and replacing the head with a dead Charmeleon
>>32469320
I just noticed how gen 1 starters have fucking huge heads too. The only difference is that they have "how to draw manga: lesson cute eyes" eyes.
>>32469357
the decline in artstyle has nothing to do with "head size"
it has to do with eyes and a lack of complexity on linework making newer pokemon all look like fucking plasticy toys
>>32468960
they are. this post is borderline breaking that rule
>>32467832
But anon Porygon is a Duck
>>32467481
The color transition patterns on Chansey's ears are more natural looking as opposed to Audino where they're just flat lines. Also they drew little realistic creases where its arms are folded while on Audino there's no detail.
Same with Farfetch'd. Color transition is jagged and natural while on Talonflame it's just basic shapes.
Hypno has detailed anatomy while Reuniclus is just a bunch of smooth shapes.
Dragonite has a little creases and detail while Dragalge doesn't even though Dragalge's design is more complex. Its entire fins are almost one solid flat shape with no detail.
Mienshao, again, is just smooth shapes with barely any anatomical details while on Machamp they drew in all the muscles and made its silhouette look convincing.
Zapdos' beak is detailed while Yveltal's is just a curved shape. The fur on its legs is also detailed while the fur on Yveltal's neck isn't. Zapdos' feet are also more detailed.
Even when trying to be ironic you fail.
>>32469278
get rid of the underbelly and youve got a solid gen 1 design there
>>32469278
Looks like a Kirby mini-boss
>>32469317
I used to dislike Camerupt for the longest time exactly because of those circles, but turns out the whole mon is based upon some traditional japanese figurine called Akabeko, and that's why it has them. I think they'd be better if they were black, but at least the circles don't feel that stupid anymore.
>>32469283
>>32469288
>>32469320
>>32471623
>>32469357
>I just noticed how gen 1 starters have fucking huge heads too
Not as big as new Pokemon though. Charmander's head is maybe 30% of its body. Litten's head looks like 50% of its body.
>>32471623
>Mienshao, again, is just smooth shapes with barely any anatomical details while on Machamp they drew in all the muscles and made its silhouette look convincing.
Yeah, because it makes sense for a slender weasel whose fighting style is based on speed rather than raw strength to have muscular details.
>>32472075
It doesn't need to be muscly. They just needed to add detail. But they didn't because that's what new Pokemon are.
>>32472082
You are being vague. What do you mean add more detail?
>>32467807
That aren't objectmons
>>32469254
So Vanis aren't ice cream or icicles because they float.
Fucking retard.
>>32469283
>>32469288
>>32469320
>>32471623
You know that gen 2 isn't new, right?
>>32469288
This is true, but detail doesn't make a design. You can give a design like Mr. Mime more detail, but that wouldn't make it better.
>>32472254
you're right. Mr. Mime is already perfect because gen 1 is that good.
>>32468945
They are poisonous gases idiot, not objects even if they resemblance sea mines
And vanillite are just floating ice cream which are
>>32472260
They are icicles idiot, not objects even if they resemblance ice cream
And koffing are just floating sea mines which are
>>32472267
>Ice cream cone resemblance icicle
These are icicles guys, I swear
>>32472279
>sea mines resemblance gas
These are the gas guys, i swear.
>>32472289
>Sea mines resemblance gas?
What?
Gene 0
>>32472260
This!
>>32465692
Objects and Cholestrica.
>>32472109
I'm not that anon, but newer pokemon designs are streamlined to the point where they feel kind of like blobs.
Like Mienshao's fur could have little subtle details added to make it actually feel like fur instead of just being points coming off its body.
Even something simple like Dragonair has subtle shading and line differentiation to give a more anatomical sense to its body. Look at how it has none outlined shading on its brow or the unevenness of the line that makes up its body, compared to meinshao where all the lines are very concise and shading is pretty minimal to just shadows cast from the body.
This isn't to shit on either of them, just a note in a difference in design philosophy.
>>32472955
pokemon artists didn´t know how to add shadows until gen 4
>>32469278
Leaked Heartless design for KH3
>>32467807
Inanimate products of nature aren't he same as manmade objects.
