>mosasaurs are meme animals
I want this meme meme to end
>>
>>32440722
>>tons of water in alola
Alola is the only region yet that has no water routes whatsoever. It's actually the driest region despite all the surrounding water.
>>
>>32440876
Oh shit

That's so strange
>>
>>32440876

also Hawaii is geologically very new and the overall geology doesn't serve to preserve fossils well.

so no new fossil mons.
>>
>>32440722
well the same thing with johto,no region fossil
>>
>>32440960
Because tyrannosaurs were native to France, right?
>>
>>32440876
>Alola is the only region yet that has no water routes whatsoever
Route 15 nigga

Kalos is the only region without proper water routes, since Azure Bay is just treated as a generic location instead of a route
>>
>>32440728
Man I WISH mosasaurs were a meme, how cool would that be?
>>
>>32441000
And so were Amargasaureses, pandas, and luchadors in stonehenge
>>
>>32440728

the one that's already proven to be a farce? but the mosasaur's the meme. nice job anon

I'm guessing he means the one that looks like this. I don't keep close track of paleontology stuff but I hope this was debunked, it looks retarded.
>>
>>32441122
>animals don't meet my standards
i just meant quadrupedal
>>

If you mean crouched biped, no. If you mean quadruped, yes.

>haven't had an invertebrate fossilmon since Gen 3

>>32441122
>>32441137
yup quadrupedal spinosaurus isn't a thing anymore

what are you, some kinda faggot?
>>
>>32441477
Exactly. We have no idea how it moved, just that it was on two legs. Whether it was crouched low like in the pic or if its posture was more like the other theropods like Tyrannosaurids or Allosaurids hasn't been proven or debunked

Relicanth is a dunkleosteus though.
>b-b-but muh coecolanth!
Pokemon can be based on more than one thing and coecolanths don't have Rock Head.

>>
>>32442380
That thing is so retarded no wonder it went extinct.

Add some googly eyes and its already a pokemon.
>>
>>32442398
>That thing is so retarded
There's nothing retarded about a shark with a built-in dental buzzsaw.

Most of Ibrahim et al. 2014 still stands even if you accept that they severely undershot on the legs. Obviously there's a pretty sparse set of data, but the older reconstructions that give it coelurosaurian legs are probably wrong by equal or greater measure.

Spino has an enormous tail in both reconstructions, the new one just points out its utility for swimming, which implies a more muscular and heavier tail. That implies a significant amount of control over its balance, which would easily allow a Spinosaurus with legs halfway between old and new reconstructions to use both quadrupedal and bipedal stances. Quadrupedal walking would save energy, be more stable, and be more maneuverable in water, while a bipedal stance would probably require more energy, but would still see plenty of use by a predator. A stance capable of either with a little energy expenditure would be ideal for something that hunts on land and in water.

tl;dr it's probably between the old and new extremes. Crouched.
