Klink Thread: Shifted Gears Edition

Before you say anything, the "face" is painted on the gears.

Klink and Klinklang are great designs.
Klang is pointless and unnecessary.

Worst line in Pokemon history, Klang literally looks the same as KlinkKlang

you just blew my mind, I thought I hated Klang and Klingklang, but if they got rid of Klang it would be perfect.
Klang just adds a big gear to Klink.
Klinklang just adds the Hulahoop to Klang.
Both are small changes that make Klang look too similar to Kink and Klinklang.

I disagree. The line follows the progression of:
[base animal/object]->[animal/object, but with a concept or theme]->[full embodiment of the theme]
In the Klink line, the endgame is becoming an epicyclic gear train. However, the sun-planet gear dynamic isn't apparent with Klink until it evolves into Klang. By the time it's a Klingklang, the theme is fully embraced by having apparent sun, planet and ring gears.
Appearance wise, sure, Klang doesn't stand out much. But from a thematic standpoint, it's as vital to the line as Combusken or Braixen are to their lines.
