People do realize that nobody with a brain is going to be using only Garbodor, right? Nobody is going to play a deck that gets beaten by draw passing until an attacker is set up. Garbodor is going to be played in an otherwise standard list as a secondary attacker to something that ideally wants powers to be shut off. That way, if you play an itemless deck or just draw and pass, you'll definitely lose to the main attacker.

X Ball hasn't been that great in years. Serviceable, sure, but not great. If you're attacking with Lele, you're probably not in great shape. This is especially true considering it's one potential use would be knocking out physic weak Pokemon, but it can't do that because its attack doesn't factor in weakness or resistance. don't account for rotation, account for guardians, rotation isn't for months and we don't have a complete setlist for burning shadows yet.

as for things that get strong with guardians, trev break is now usable in standard again so that card gains value, lapras is getting big buffs, but garbodor will be the new cancer card. literally every deck has to change how it plays the game against him.

why would lapras be depreciated by sylveon? they don't serve similar purposes as cards at all. If you're talking about the draw functionality, that's not what you use Lapras for, it's used because it's a 190hp big basic with a 1-2 combo that deals 260 damage, and in conjunction with switch cards can attack on rotation for 160/turn which is pretty good.

7 unique victories (playing the same opponent over and over with the same deck doesn't count for more, but beating them with each different deck does) for each of the freebie decks. You can play Mental Might in vs without doing any AI play but that deck's pretty meh overall.

You need to run through all of the challenges with those decks plus one from the store to get your 45 free packs eventually anyways.

shaymin isn't even the best user of set up. Uxie had set up 7, was a one prize card in an era without a reliable gust of wind effect and could shuffle itself back into the deck. One of the better things about playing unlimited is not having to pay for shaymemes since old Uxies are mega cheap these days.

We're considering unbanning it and banning FOGP instead because while it's not strictly broken, FOGP Vileplume is really annoying and makes the game a mess of coinflipping and topdecking. None of us really play that kind of deck out of mutual respect.

There's some other shit that benefits from it in expanded but the grass type limitation controls the OPness of the card unlike Broken Space Time which just enables dozens of blatantly broken combos.

It's actually not very consistent though because the LEGEND card doesn't have that much HP in the grand scheme of things and it's really hard to drop more than one of them a game. One of my friends tried to make this deck work in friendlies.

It might work better in true unlimited where you can super energy removal to your heart's content but you can't slow the game down enough with hammers.

therein lies the problem because contemporary deck architecture requires putting between 5 and 10 items into discard on turn 1. If you average that to 7 or 8, you're talking 140-160 damage for one attachment out of a 1 prize stage 1. Before choice band or any kukui plays, AND we have tool removal so FFB isn't a safe +40 to put EX cards out of his strike distance.

Some of the GX cards will be safe, but Flareon AOR will let him chunk Lurantis/Decidueye and Solgaleo if you can remove his altar of the sunne. Garbodor/Espeon-GX/Flareon AOR with thick lines of rescue stretcher and tool removal is gonna be my first guardians deck.

Garbodor fucks up so many things about how we play this game, I still can't believe the madmen printed this card.

So I've been looking to see if there are any techs that can be use so combat Garbodor without drastically altering your deck building.

First look at the theme decks and see if there's one that has the stuff you want. Most of them run those horrible pyramided lines and have a shitload of basics but only 1-2 of each rare evolution, but 500 tokens for a playset of rowlets for example is pretty good.

For commons you can open store packs, uncommons I'd consider trading for. I keep a few evolutions packs around to trade for random uncommons I need.
