Rattlesnakes are just highly specialized vipers, and the more I look at >>32408263 the more I see gaboon viper (the huge fangs) and maybe a little Russel's viper (the back pattern). No rattle in sight. Still a fine pokemon, stats aside. Speedy mega when?

I hope that they will make another woodpecker Pokemon someday that also stays a woodpecker. They could go for a Steel/Flying woodpecker with a drill beak. Doesn't even need to be a regional bird. While Pikipek alone is good, the pokemon "twist" around it is shit. Toucannon isn't even that bad, I just would've liked it as a seperate line.

Gen 7 wasn't the first gen to have Pokemon completely change species while evolving and won't be the last. Get used to it.

I think that summarizes a lot of pokemon. Arbok is cool, but it's no rattlesnake. Toucannon is neat, but it's no woodpecker. Slaking is fine, but it's no sloth. As far as a woodpecker mon, it might be kind of neat to have it grass/flying or something and have it prey on sudowoodo, sort of like what they did with corsola and mareanie. Would subvert expectations and add more inter-generational interactions between mons. Plus, it could even have a literal wood pecker.

You can't expect GF to make a fully evolved Pokemon version of every species on Earth. Having representation as a Pokemon should be enough, even if it's NFE. Everything is usable in-game, anyway.

One of the good things about Pokemon is that they're bound to make more animals of similar caliber eventually. Sometimes it just takes time. Like how long it took us to get another starfish Pokemon. I guess we just gotta be patient.
