Why is Pokemon conquest art si good
>pokemon conquest
you know a pokemon game fails when there's no porn of it.
The sprites are a little wonky but they're trying to draw them in interesting/dynamic poses.
Artist?
>tfw you realize we will never have a Conquest sequel

wtf I love pokemon conquest now
>>32407946
Well pokemon conquest is the best spin off ever! It's great in every sense and it's a pity we will never receive a sequel.
>>32407946
Because its not shitty game freak and the stupid sugimori

The dinamic poses make the Pokémon look better, the original ones are in a more static possitions because they serves as a base to all the things which the franchise produce like toys and merchandise in general. The TCG for example is a good example of how the Pokémon should be.

Hahaha fuck off and take yours (you).
because it has more personality than nu-sugi boring art

Be my guest, this is too many for me to look up right away.

Is that image supposed to prove him wrong?
>>32408255
Obviously, the watercolor technique is a god-tier art, kid. I know that you grew with the new style everywhere and you are incapable to see something good in the classic one but.
>>32408571
This is, even today, after 20 years, the best interpretation of the Blastoise design ever made.
>>32408571
It's not the style that's bad, it's the drawings themselves.
>>32408671
Explain??
It's because the weird poses or...
Give me some new poke lineart and i'll colour it with a watercolour style for giggles
>>32409008
>Watercolor
Shit
>>32408075
sugimori's old art-style is overrated garbage
>>32408075
The only thing that makes those cool is the watercolor artstyle.
Sugimori is a much better artist now. Those aren't anywhere near the worst of them, but gen 1 Sugimori art has some horribly fucking wonky proportions and perspective.
I always see pic related posted when people praise gen 1 art but it is honestly one of the worst drawings I have ever seen used in a professional capacity. Shame he stopped using watercolors though.
>>32407951
That's a victory if anything. I'm glad to see degenerates stay away from it.
>>32409422
In a way I like the slightly bad art. Maybe not the level in that example, but something about the old art looks like it has more life and I don't think it's only watercolors. Less perfection and more someone having fun with design, perhaps.
>>32409473
I find them a bit charming too, but I know it's 100% nostalgia.
Most of the old art is incredibly derpy and usually lop-sided or inconsistent. The only thing that makes them fun is that Gen 1 Pokemon each had 2 Sugimori images, 1 'static' pose and 1 'dynamic' pose.
If new Pokemon art had a second 'dynamic' pose as well there'd be no contest.
>>32407951
The game had way too many qts for that to be allowed.

It's pretty expressive and dynamic, why these guys don't work in the official games?
They're probably more talented than Ohmori in Gen 7...
>>32409662
I figure official Pokemon art isn't as dynamic since it's supposed to be the 'default' representation of the species that gets reused for infinity.
>>32408075
Sugimori's art is good but you can't deny that Conquest had the best artwork in the series.
It's a good thing they put in the time and effort to make it look good since the artwork is actually featured in the game. The main games just use the sprites/models but the ones in Conquest are only big enough for you to tell them apart from each other on the battlefield. It'd be pretty sweet if the main game pokedex started coming with a photo gallery.

Imperial is a fucking retarded measuring system and you know it fag.
Canadian master race checking in.
>conquest sequel never
AUUUUUGHHHHHHHHHHH
>>32407946
Speaking of art, has anyone seen a hi-res image of the new Decidueye Dream World art? I've seen that it's on the tag for the plush and seen tiny versions like this poster, but can't find a quality pic.
>>32407946
There is only problem- their shading sucks they all look like Jellies. I love the poses.
>>32407987
>that Audino
T H I C C
>>32410782
I remember Infernape, Charmeleon, and Weavile had some great poses. Groudon's poses wern't very dynamic, but were still awesome.
>>32407951
But there is, Anon.
Everyone in this thread should check out some of the art used in the TCG, some of it's similar to the stuff in OP, and in general it's a cool source of official-endorsed art not in the same style as the regular renderings.
