Garbodor is in no way going to be a main attacker. If your opponent decides to simply stop playing cards after setting up a half decent attacker, there's a chance you'll only be doing like 60 to 80 damage a turn. You're going to want to play him alongside a deck that wants to shut off powers, like Mewtwo did, and whipping out Garbodor late in the game to hit for ohkos.

You can't use cards with different backs in the same deck at official events. If you use opaque sleeves you can generally get away with it as long as you have a copy of the card, either official or a print out from the carddex in your region's dominant language for reference.

What kind of binder do collectfags prefer? I know D-ring is basically mandatory but is there anything else I should look out for?

I had my old cards in a C-ring that sat under the TV for the past 20 years and now that I'm collecting again I want something I can actually open and flip pages in, looking at the rares depresses me because I was a snotty little kid that got boogers and shit on most of them, and one of my charizards is scratched. You always have to pair gengar with something that does damage counters like alakazam, espeon or trevenant.

Basically, prerelease is an event that costs between 25-35 USD depending on area, when you go, you'll be given a prerelease package with 4 packs and a collection of some trainers and pokemon to maybe build your deck around
Your decks are 40 cards and it's pretty cool, you then do a tournament and the higher up you get the more packs you get

I just lost because my opening hand was Latios, 2 Scoop Ups, 2 Recycles, and I sycamored into nothing but more Scoop Ups and Recycles.

Every game the Acro Bikes are 2 or 3 in a row, the Ultra Balls are never in the top 30 cards, and the stadiums are always 2-3 at a time at random spaces in the deck. I have no idea why this is but it's been this way the entire ladder.

I only lose when I clump up horribly or my opponent goes first and benches a ton of big basics. I don't mind because I either win in a few minutes or lose in a few seconds, but this RNG is in no way random.

My experience says otherwise. The deck only loses when the Balls, Sycamores, Mails, Shaymins, and other draw cards are clumped together in the latter half of the deck or all the owls are prized. Having 3 of 3 copies of a card prized should rarely happen (but is actually common in PTCGO). Otherwise it's easy to plow through the whole deck in a turn. And if I do brick due to clumping I can just look for another game. That's how the deck is played.

In my experience you've bricked 3 for 3. About half of your deck would be dead if you drew it in your opening hand, so it'd be the exception, not the norm. The bottom line is, if the deck was reliable, you wouldn't use "I can just go on the next game" as a justification.

It's just a natural progression of the game. To beat/counter something strong, you need something else that can stand on equal ground with it. Repeat this process over the course of 20 years, and suddenly things from 20 years ago probably isn't as good as things made in the present.

It's the same in the main Pokémon games too: Gen I/II Pokémon generally have lower and less specialized stats than ones from later gens.

It has an attack that poisons the defending pokemon 10 damage counters per turn. If you have a poison deck, you might as well throw it into the garbage because it won't be half as effective as a toxapexGX deck.

Decidueye isn't good on its own. It's only effective under item lock. As for Volc it would become the clunkiest deck of all time and thus totally worthless competitively. You'd have to run heavy energy and Starmie counts and you'd get shut down by almost anything.

This card is such bullshit. The more I playtest with it, the more cancerous it seems. EX and GX decks just lose to it, they can't build up energy fast enough to maintain board presence and it ends up being a waste because your Pokemon is just going to die next turn. Even if you do kill one of the Garbs, two or three more are waiting to take its place because all it needs is one energy to function. It's not like Darkrai or Yveltal where you're responsible for how much damage you're doing, your opponent is doing everything for you just by trying to play their deck. Garbodor is doing 200-300 fixed rate damage permanently and there's no way to deter it without Lysandre's Trump Card or some other bullshit.

Garbodor might be the solution to the 10-minute turn one because people are going to have to adjust their decks or else lose. And not just tweak a card or two from the netdeck they googled. Wholesale changes will be required. Old rules of thumb will have to be thrown out the window. You just can't play 4 Sycamore, 4 Ultra Ball, 4 VS Seeker, 4 Trainer Mail, 4 Max Elixir all in the same deck and expect to get through a tournament undefeated. Deck skeletons will have to change and individual cards will have to be thought about before they are played.
