Can we switch it up for a change? How about mono Doubles, 4v4? I know there's been some discussion in the past about it, is there not enough interest? I feel that things can be a little more exciting in doubles given you can double target something as well as have the Protect mind games. Opens up a ton of new strategies and gives types like Electric a lot of moves they would hardly ever use in singles. The 3v3 mono meta has gotten pretty stale given that there aren't that many surprises anymore. the majority of the time, the winner of a match is already determined by Turn 2 creating a lot of these checkm8 games.

This metagame in particular has been/is stale imo. Singles is already terribly balanced esp for mono since it favors full on hyper offense and not every Pokémon can fit onto a team like that. There are a few types (always the same ones) that are able to consistently always come out on top and steamroll everybody else with little to no effort. And for two reasons mostly: those teams have AT LEAST 6 mons that aren't complete shit (they have more than 1 set that's good) and they have mons with good secondary typings along with other coverage moves.

There's only so much you can do tho with certain matchups tho.

With doubles, the game gets a little bit more balanced for the types that struggled hard in singles. There's simply more room to being creative. It becomes easier to make a team because you'll have a general strategy that you would want to build around it; whether that strategy is using speed control, weather, stall, fake out support, a team would certainly feel more cohesive.
