I have loads. Both Contest Ribbons for regions that don't have, updated versions of old ribbons and new ribbons for just about every feature that has ever existed in the series. I've been "working" on them for a long time, that is I've just been messing around when I'm bored and these were the ones I spent my time on instead of other stuff I could as well have wasted my time on. But I'm actually really proud of how they turned out, especially my White Treehollow Ribbon, being pic related.

What's the best way to get the contest ribbons in gen 3 without the Belue/Spelon/ect berries?

I never really did before SM and I regret it. Though to be fair I never was very interested in the post game until gen 6.

Yep. Some time in 2015, I painstakingly bred a Jolly female Treecko on Emerald and transferred her up. It took until last month to complete that project since I took frequent breaks. And only really worked on it when life was particularly shit.

She now has perfect IVs and I'm just waiting on the Mega Stone. There's also my Maractus but that's more about the sentimental value.

All shadow pokemon can be shiny, but you have to catch them as a normal shadow pokemon, and hope they turn shiny when they enter your party. I was actually just preparing to go for Evice's Tyranitar, and I got Gonzap's Skarmory out of sheer luck, basically the best random encounter i could ask for.

It's mostly gen 2 pokemon, with a few gen 3 in there. But, you NEED to reset for them the first time you encounter them. You can't just encounter them, kill them, and come back in the postgame.

It'd seem GF may have originally intended for Ribbons to be a more common thing. Wow, I've never actually bothered to read the unused ribbon descriptions before, but they hold some really fucking interesting information.
Darkness Tower, Red Tower, Blackiron Tower and Final Tower sounds edgy as fuck, I wonder if they were meant to be in RSE or some spin-off game.

PokéPark seems to also have been meant to be able to trade Pokémon with the main games, like Colosseum/XD/Revolution, seeing as there's ribbons associated specifically with it. Or maybe it's some real-life Japan location commemorative thing? I think there was a theme park with the same name as the game.

Well, the three minigames are separate from the Affection side of things. So why not? Also, I mean just Amie minigames, I forget Refresh cut them and added care tool thingies.

Realistically though, how many ribbons should there be? Minding that every 8 ribbons adds a single byte to every individual mon. Which shouldn't be an issue, but with GF it wouldn't surprise me.

That depends on how thorough you want to be. Should every region have Contests? Should every feature give ribbons? Should Contests have a ribbon for every rank, or only Master Rank? Should the Battle Facilities keep having 2 ribbons per facility, like Maison and Tree, or should they just have a single ribbon for Super Mode? Doing a quick calculation, one would end up with around ~220 ribbons if we extend old features to newer games, if everything gets ribbons and if we keep all the "ribbon ranks", yet only around ~50 ribbons if we just keep the main ribbons of the highest ranks for the features we already have.

As I see it, the "fun" value and the "hunger" value only exists as restrictions for the "affection" value, so you can't max it out in less than a minute. Doing minigames is what increases Fun, which rewards you with PokéPuffs you can feed the Pokémon to decrease their Hunger, which in turn increases their Affection. You get a ribbon for maxing out Affection, which playing minigames and eating puffs is a part of. So to me, the Best Friends Ribbon is representative of the whole Amie system, and not just the petting alone.

I have my ribbons ordered in a folder by number, and Ribbons #8 to #127 are for contests. That's basically the same 20 ribbons (4 per region) repeated for every Contest Category, with me adding a new Spooky Category to the mix because who couldn't use more spook in their life? The rest are more or less all unique.

They look nice, but I don't see why they'd be in the games. You don't actually use your Pokémon in those minigames, they're just props for the player to look at while doing the minigames. Whether you use a Sunkern or an Arceus changes literally nothing, so why should they get ribbons? If anything it's the player that should get the reward, since, you know, it's the player that does the entire job.
