4chan has been slowly dying since 2012-13. Things weren't irredeemable until about 2014-15 when /tg/ finally died. Love it or hate it, /tg/ is/was easily the most well-oiled part of 4chan and one of the best places to get a pulse reading on the site, and the state it is currently in is troubling. The rest of this site is now largely infested with autistic contrarians, waifufags, and people who have no idea how this place actually works/worked. For example, there was a time when tripfags were actually a good thing.
4Chan isn't quite dead, but it will finish bleeding out by the end of the decade, barring a Christmas miracle.
