While she does seem like the best for France, I don't know what'll happen if she wins. Immigration wise, you can't just deport whole towns of refugees without sparking violence and resistance. Hopefully the French people unite and do vote for her though, she does have support from gays so it's already looking better than the political divide in America.

I fucking hope that Le Pen wins, she's easily the least worst choice out of all candidates. Some of the other candidates are sprouting bullshit like that France needs to learn to live with terrorism. In that case, I'd rather back the supposed ''evil'' side that wants to keep people safe than the side who lets terrorist attacks happen because letting your country and people die is apparently very tolerant in the eyes of the EU and their backers.

I understand people have problems with XY in general but the region itself is cool yet it gets so much hate.

generally because it's linear but also lacks the optional side areas that made it not as much of an issue in unova
personally I love the atmosphere (autism alert): for my second playthrough I mapped out a different real world location and season that matched the feeling in game for every route/town/etc and would actually play the game there. took me over a year to do but it was a lot of fun having the game and real world match their beauty like that.

I find Snowbelle to be the comfiest city in Kalos. Also, what a coincidence to find this thread when I recently moved a mon from ORAS to X so I could get the Kalos Hall of Fame ribbon.

It's mostly just attached to the hatred of XY itself. It falls victim to many of the same issues that befell BW Unova but without a second game to redeem it.

Most of the region-specific criticisms usually involve the shitty desert route, Route 1, and Lumiose being too complex.

This, but I don't get the problem with Lumiose. Don't you want a labyrinthic metropolis that you have to manually explore? It feels like an actual city, instead of the usual orderly jRPG town.
About Route 1, while it's literally empty, is it really that important? It's just the first route.

To me it's because the region doesn't make sense.
There's literally no transition between different places. Like you go from a totally normal city, to a swamp, to a snowy city, that's just weird.
Also the art of the map sucks
I don't like the region as a whole, but each city separately look nice though
