Sinnoh has better starters than Kanto, and any other region for that matter.

The Sinnoh starters are my favorite starters ever. There's no one that I dislike, to be honest.

But as much as I love all three of them, my favorite will always be Empoleon.

I 100% agree. All three are awesome and I have played through gen 4 with each one.
Great typing (theme wise, not competitively. Sorry turtle ) great design, great everything.

Best starter set, but if I had to choose I'd say monkey.

Really bummed I lost my copy of Platinum, which means no bold Empoleon with Stealth Rock and Defog for me unless I buy a whole new game : (

Hope they bring back the HMs (can't believe I'm saying that) for the DPpt remakes. That is to say IF the remakes even happen.

There's also value in how all 3 of them are fan-fucking-tastic ingame, which really makes you attached to your starter. Torterra has STAB earthquake, Infernape is blazing fast and hits hard, and Empoleon has a million resistances.

Compare this to the Gen V starters that came right after and all 3 of those were so poor many people report boxing them.

Torterra was always my favourite starter though.

Gen 4>Gen 2>Gen 1>Gen 3>Gen 6>Gen7>Gen 5

Gen IV is one of the few where all of the starters have solid designs.

Sinnoh Starters would probably be my favorite if not for Kalos starters. The rogue, mage, warrior thing and double type cycle just put them over the top . And I just can't get into torterra desu.

Still a close second, though.

Gentlemen, i believe the correct answer is:

Gen 4 > Gen 1 > Gen 7 >Gen 3 > Gen 6 > Gen 5 > Gen 2.

Aesthetically, Gen 2 starters are really bland and quite ugly, with the exception of totodile/Feraligatr maybe.

But, at least we can all agree that Gen 4 starters are top notch and that empoleon is the best of the trio

Don't get me wrong I enjoyed all of them but some are just better than others

I really want to play Sinnoh again.

It was the most challenging gen for me.
I liked gen 4.

I think Sinnoh with the new HM/Helper pokemon system would be a good game.

I think GF should first make a third version for X/Y or a sequel for SM.

Sinnoh already got Platinium.
Johto got HGSS.
Unova got BW2.
Hoenn got Emerald, and Emerald-3D Aka ORAS.
Kanto got Genwun.

All the olds regions got at least one great game, but GF rushed the last two gens to much to allow them to shine.

Just make it full of fun content.

In world explanation would be that the elite 4 went real well and people started coming from all over to challenge it and a lot of scrubs also showed up so they had to make gyms to limit the number of entries.

Hoenn starters are better. Sinnoh starters began the trend of starters based on people, which could be a good thing or a bad thing depending on how you look at it. In a vacuum I think the Sinnoh starters are pretty good, though, and one of the better things about a mostly awful generation.
