It isn't said like that in japanese, it is still said ar-see-us, ar-ru-se-u-su is just romanji for the characters that are in the name. Someone that speaks japanese would probably pronounce it ar-see-usu because of the nature of their language being consonant-vowel, but ar-see-us is the corrent pronunciation. Ar-kee-us is some american translator's bastardization of the name

It is though. The "see" sound doesn't exist in Japanese. Many of the sounds in the name "arusausu" may be pronounced quickly or softly, but there's no justification for the "see" sound. The closest Japanese has is "shi", are you trying to tell me it's pronounced Arshius, like it is in AR System (AKA "A R Shisutemu")?

You clearly don't know much about Japanese. It's a syllabary yes, but it isn't consonant-vowel, as evidenced by the single-vowel sounds a e i o u. No Japanese-speaking person would ever pronounce "aruseusu" as anything that sounds remotely like "arseeus".

And Arkeus isn't a bastardization, because it's correct. The English translators are meant to come up with a new English name, that's why we have Bulbasaur and not Fushigidane. Additionally, it's based on the Latin pronunciation of words (ie c always makes the k sound) because in the English speaking world, religion is associated with Latin.

Except legendaries are supposed to be an exception - in interviews it was revealed that legendary names are the hardest as it needs to work across most languages. The kanto birds are tmsone of the few exceptions as those came before that rule. I think the one other full blown exception is a German name?

Probably should have specified I'm the guy who pointed out Ar-kay-us is correct due to RKS System, even if I do find it stupid that they changed the pronounciation between languages, and that I'm not the guy that thinks Ar-kay-us is just flat out wrong

I usually get irritated when someone mispronounces a Pokemon, but make a simple exception for Arceus. Because fuck this name. The RKS System finally confirmed the pronunciation for its English name, but it is still spelled to look like Ar-say-us. So not going to blame anyone who pronounces it like this. So fuck this name, God has many names and all that bullshit.
