It usually doesn't matter because creating an overseas legal case against a Chinese company is incredibly time consuming and difficult. In the time it would take the company could just pack up move on to the next cash cow.
And sometimes legal cases against Chinese companies end up bullshit anyways. For example, a Chinese company legally owns international distribution rights to Ultraman despite it being a Japanese creation.
Because of the bad history and rampant amount of knockoff IPs coming form China, companies just tend to ignore them unless they actually get big enough to threaten the original IP.

I do not think there is anything to justify multiple trainers using six pokemon apiece against something. MMOs work because everyone is forced into their own role, and while it is an interesting idea to build your own class essentially, you'll just end up with Mega Fug and friends everywhere.

Also, you get bored by having nothing to do in the game as is. MMOs are just as bad, with only the endgame being important and it dies quickly when you're done.

Furthermore, if you just want to battle and chat with each other, admittedly those two things don't exist together for anything, but I think most will say there is a reason for that. You can't chat and battle at the same time. If you want to have something like this board, then I don't think anyone is going to give it to you because no one is going to tolerate people being asswipes all the time regardless of the context.
