Is there a way to play HGSS without a flash cart on o3ds with cfw?

You can download the ROM and either play it on PC with an emulator or put it on an r4 and play it on a DS

Not yet, but they're making massive progress in unlocking DS mode on the 3DS. All they have left to fiddle with is to get access to games directly from the SD card while in DS mode so the 3DS can boot and play the games directly from that.

The better question is why would you want to? HGSS is a horrible game and an inferior version of GSC. There's no reason to play it.

GSC are okay if you like the older aesthetic, but they have all the same flaws of HG/SS without all the shiny upgrades and extras that made the remakes so memorable. Thinking that GSC were actually better than their remakes is just pure nostalgic bullshit.
