I was really excited to get back into the anime after having a blast with Pokemon Moon. Still playing through the game after defeating the league and immensely enjoying it. Gotta catch em all eh?

Pokemon would have been a great anime on par with other long running series such as Dragon Ball Z, One Piece, Bleach etc if the greedy penny-pinching corporate jews hadn't gotten their way.

Imagine having a truly worthwhile anime to go along with the excellent games. In which you discover the region and its local Pokemon alongside the cast of the show. As if you were actually on an adventurous journey with them.

But they have a point. Toei is run by greedy jews who refuse to invest in their cash cow and instead make it as cheap as possible to maximize returns that only they, not even their head bowing employees, get to enjoy.

It's hard to call One Piece an animated series when it's so full of shaking still frames, pan-scan still frames, and even idle still frames taking up so much of the running time.

I do like over complex plots about dead and revival though. But Gantz does the death-game thing better. I've read about 22 volumes of the omnibus of Dragon Ball so I feel like I'm qualified an opinion. I like his art though.

Pokemon has nice sakuga and it is still worth watching over One Piece by Toei as it contains an original story. This doesn't say much as I personally wouldn't watch either at this point.

Gantz got fucked over anime wise except for its first half and its movie. It is way better than dbz and one piece still but its also not targeting kids to hold it back like those series are. And even though they are kids shows they can still get deep and shit when they want to not be fun and games. Even pokemon still tries to get sad it just falls so flat with no stakes on the line.

You are probably right. Its just whenever im in the mood for the show i remember that im still mad ash exists the way he does nothing interesting. Never catches or trains his pokemon. Never wins. I just dont see the point hes trying to prove anymore. Applimon is going good for me when it comes to a mix of comedy and monster collection. Because they are actually allowed to fucking speak like people. Something pokemon will never do. Now i just wait for a pokemon season to end till i consider watching it. You can skip all filler that way.

I'm saying that the battles are the most boring part of the anime to me. What I enjoy is seeing the Pokemon and interactions between them, how they're implemented into different situations and what different personalities they adopt. "IRON TAIL! IRON TAIL AGAIN!" just isn't interesting for myself.

Basically pokemon has just and will always just be good for waifu shit. Thats the only reason why they have such replacable characters that never develop or learn anything. Just care about the new hotness every season while fan art gives you what you really want. The anime never will do anything superior to the manga or even the games aside from being animated.
