Ursaring doesn't learn Cosmic Power or anything like that, but it has a slightly celestial theme. It and Teddiursa are based on the constellations Ursa Minor and Ursa Major, which are depicted as bears. That's why they have crescent and full moon markings.

Beartic is not related to the cosmos, but its name comes from a combonation of bear and arctic, and the word arctic itself derives from ancient Greek for "bear".
The arctic was named as such because Ursa Major and Ursa Minor are very prominent constellations in the far northern hemisphere. It's completely coincidental that polar bears happen to be found in this region, so it's a good name that ties all that stuff together.

One thing I really like about Pangoro is Pancham's method of evolution. You gotta get it to level 30 and have another Dark type on your team. Pancham LEARNS to be a Dark type by having the other edgy kid's highly contagious teen angst rub off on it, and it becomes a bancho panda that's chewing a bamboo stick. That's really clever.

Also, fun fact: the designer of Pangoro was NOT the designer of Pancham.
