Shedinja is viable in many tiers actually.
Oddly enough, it functions vastly better in Ubers than in low tiers because it cockblocks stuff like Primal Kyogre, Pheromosa, Xerneas (except for those carrying HP Rock) and a bunch of other uber threats.

I was using specs Chandelure before 'mosa got banned and it was pretty decent. It can basically function as a mid-ground between Gengar and Alolan Marowak; it checks a lot of the same things that each can't individually. Also specs Shadow Ball is nasty in this meta.

No it's been as good sincee late ORAS, but Tapu fini is an extra meta Mon it could swallow, but it could handle a bigger, older threat in P-Kyogre. I bred one in X/Y for a trick room regenerate core, but it's bulk is capable of beating it's speed and enables it to function inside or outside of speed control. I know the assault vest set gives Tangrowth amazing non-one-sided bulk but recently I've been experimenting with sub/seed (toxic, and leaf storm/giga drain)and it is pretty awesome too.

Goes on a regenerator core with Tangrowth. Tangrowth has more physical defense so it makes sense to have a more special-oriented partner. Also, access to Nasty Plot is nice.

Really, though, I've found both are almost interchangeable. I tried switching out Slowbro for Slowking on a team last year, messed with EV's so they had almost the same stats, and pretty much nothing changed.
