I might be getting a job soon that has gobs of downtime, so I'm planning to start shiny hunting again to kill time.

I am pretty stoked. I got a shiny torchic earlier this week, then yesterday I was working on a shiny Pichu and got a shiny Pikachu only 48 SOS chain in and today I spent a grueling 5 hours chaining Bounsweets to get a shiny one about 10 minutes ago.

Here's what i'm up against

Just reset for an Espeon for Colosseum's hunt, and these IV's are a thing of beauty, especially considering the + Sp Attack nature

I've decided on SRing for shiny Articuno in SS but I have balltism and would like it in a dive ball.
What's the best way to stock up on dive balls in SS?

What's the absolute most powerful team to get to Evice with once i start SRing? The best I can think up is Espeon/Quagsire/Flygon/Metagross/Heracross/Forretress. Metagross is only 1 fight before Evice, but i could just throw the fight after i get Metagross.

You could just have an empty slot in your party so that when you catch it, you can check the party and immediately see if it's shiny instead of whiting out and checking the PC.

Much faster process since you can look at its icon to see if its shiny quickly.

I don't really care about finishing the story, but you need to do it to get it all the way up to Sun. Here's my strategy so far.

Espeon for outspeeding and 1shotting with Psychic attacks
Forretress for suicide bombings
Quagsire and Flygon for EQ spam
Metagross and Heracross for power

Admittedly, if I had more than one nickname planned I would. Gender tends to only be a thing for me when I'm naming after them after certain characters.

There have been times where I didn't care what gender they were(regardless of if it were a shiny hunt or normal breeding session), but those were when I didn't have an immediate nickname in mind.

At least the odds I'm playing with are better than the previous hunt. It's just that luck was on my side with Popplio(second shiny was female and I wasn't at even 1,000 eggs) unlike the missed rolls I'm currently getting.
