I wouldnt mind non stat changing personality traits that do cosmetic stuff like different poses in battle and different behaviors in amie/refresh. Some pokemon may act arrogant or dismissive to the foe, holding head high and not giving them honor of looking them in the eyes. Others might be really excited and giddy to fight or be groomed.

I think IVs are more sensible than people give them credit for, and a realistic approach to a genealogical dynamic of the game. You can ignore that whole aspect of breeding if you want, but there's no reason to remove it when there's a lot of people who take time to understand and utilize the mechanic. They shouldn't have to dumb down the breeding system when a huge theme of the entire franchise is evolution (genetics).

And if you think it will stop people from hacking you're a retard. GF already made it stupidly easy to access 4-6 IV dittos since gen 6. anyway.

Other than making your non-legendary pokemon stronger than adversaries of the same level, or close to?
The difference is damn noticeable when an opposing pokemon probably has a hindering nature or low IVs and yours has 15+ in every stat and a beneficial nature.
Or go with low-IV mons to increase difficulty on yourself if you are a masochist.

0IV-per-stat derps are noticeably harder to use in-game if you aren't autistic.
You only need to breed or catch a handful to get one that isn't rubbish. It's quick and easy if you aren't stupid and unprepared.

But it doesn't. It's completely random and even if you somehow got all 31s and the opponent somehow got all 0s it would barely make a difference. Levels and EVs are more important in-game than IVs are.

ivs are way harder to breed for than natures. And for legendaries having a pokemon with a certain nature you want with it and synchronize for the ability makes it a 50% chance the legendary will have that nature.
If you can't get the right nature you want for any pokemon in the game you really need to kill yourself.

They're a step in the right direction but they aren't a fix. Either remove the level 100 requirement or make bottle caps easier to get (peferably both) and it will be real progress.

It would be cool if they swapped them out for some kind of set of physical characteristics that actually visibly differentiate your mons and make them truly unique, while conferring benefits and downsides similar to natures and adding a new dimension to breeding for specific characteristic blends. Too bad designing such a system consistent across 800 radically different species would be fucking impossible and way out of the scope of a typical Gamefreak half-ass anyway.

Fucking anything more at this point to actually personalize my shit in the way IVs were supposed to would be cool, to be honest.
