I doubt it. It's simply not possible.

That said, for me personally, they did. When I played Silver, I was a kid. I didn't even know Ash and Red were different people. I had seen Brock and Misty, along with "Gary" prior to this, so seeing "Ash" wasn't a surprise at all. I thought it was cool and I found the battle to be immensely enjoyable, but that was it. No real "hype". What topped this for me, though, was a really simple moment. When they revealed Red and Blue would be in SM. The music, the unpredictability, and their new look made me scream out loud in a high pitched voice, like a little fangirl. I proceeded to spam to board with them for the new week. It was much more "hype" than meeting Red in Silver for me.

It was awful and you know it. And I mean it. It was shit. I thought the entry the Legendaries made looked great, but the rest was shit. I hated how they forced me to use a Pokemon I didn't want to. They went against the spirit of Pokemon because "muh tragic villain and rivalry". Fuck that.

You can box Reshiram/Zekrom after you catch it, N's dialogue even changes if you do.

what final boss could top the character who beat the last one, that character being the player's avatar? its essentially you facing yourself, and i imagine most people used at least 2 of his team in RBY

there are excellent examples of bosses that are the perfect climax to their story, Okami, Final Fantasy 7, Chrono Trigger, with the perfect amount of mystery so you're surprised, but you're not really surprised.

But who else could possibly be standing in Mt. Silver waiting for you?

I did not know that, nor have I ever heard about this before now. I have seen this very argument many times, on this very board, but this is the first time I've seen it be corrected. Looking at Bulbapedo, there is no extra dialogue for N, so it seems not many have.

Can you provide a video or something with this? I would like to confirm it, but I am unsure what to search for.

They came close with this but I think if Wes was the final boss of XD it would've blown Red out of the water simply because they could access your team from your Colosseum save file to make the fight even better.

This battle didn't mean much to me personally but yeah don't think they havent topped this battle yet.

My personal favorite though is pic related. Shit was intense as fuck for me.
