I love her.

Her trial was pretty easy. Also she's a 12 year old cartoon character so I don't think much of her.

You're a special kind of retard

I find it difficult to describe, but I really like the way the top layer of her outfit fit loosely over the base layer, creating a subtle depth effect. The top is a basic sailor outfit top which is done to fucking death in anime, but the pants I find really interesting. The way the belt strap is so exaggerated and weaves in and out reminds me of sail rigging, while the pattern around the legs combine elements of fish hooks and rolling waves. The pants also make vaguely have the silhouette of a long skirt and brings most of the volume of the character lower to the ground, which I think helps make the overall silhouette look more feminine. Her hairstyle isn't much to write home about, but the little hairpiece over her forehead looks like a little fishing net and I think it's a nice touch. The flip flops are kind of a given since it's Alola and she is always outside near the water.

And of course, the swimsuit under it all - she's always swimming ready. Having grown up with two female swimmers, I have observed that it was pretty common for them to throw on really loose shirts and loose sweatpants when out of the water between races. Looser clothes mean the water from the suit doesn't drench the outer layer and the airy passage between layers helps the suit dry even though it's covered. I enjoy seeing this strategy employed in Lana's design.

A way better design than Mallow at any rate.

She's OK.

Her fan base however...
