Honestly this. I want a 3DS game but the timing is bad. If they actually release a game this Xmas for the 3DS or even the Switch, it will be a really fucking shitty and rushed game.

GF released SM which took many years to make a few months before the Switch's release. They can't make a game for it so soon because they need to re-create the engine, which doesn't take nearly as much time as porting a MK engine, or Fire Emblem's engine.

ORAS was the only non-new-gen main series game since Nintendo Directs became a thing and it wasn't announced in a Direct of any kind, Pokemon or Nintendo. Even if a single data point made a pattern (it doesn't), the pattern would be the exact opposite of what you're arguing, and the next game would more likely be announced with a standalone trailer and not in a Nintendo Direct. How many Nintendo Directs did you idiots swear up and down would announce Z?
