What to expect from a Gen 6 game:

>The Good
Music. Some of the best in the series.
Character customization. IMO not as good as S/M, but some people like X/Y customization better. If you don't like summery clothes, you'll like these clothes better.
Mega Evolutions. If you like these, they're more prevalent than in S/M.
Lots of good Pokemon. New and old, you've got lots of choices.
A nice region. Not as comfy as Alola, but still pretty cool.
Cool legendaries. Both of them.
The PSS makes battling/trading with people easy and quick

>The Bad
Generally known as the easiest game in the series. I agree here. Don't expect to feel too threatened at any point, you should have no trouble.
Bland characters. The friend group feels like a big deal at first, but they barely affect the story at all in reality. And the evil team's pretty bland.
Graphics are worse than S/M in the overworld. Battle graphics are pretty much the same.

>The Verdict
It's still a super fun game overall, IMO. If you're mostly into story and difficulty, you'll probably find this game a bore, but I had a great time, and hopefully you will too.

First, do you own Omega Ruby or Alpha Sapphire? If you own Omega Ruby then choose X, if you own Alpha Sapphire then choose Y.

Second, X and Y have version exclusive Mega Stones: Pinsirite, Tyranitarite, Manectite and the obvious Charizardite X and Mewtwonite X are X exclusives. Heracronite, Houndoomite, Aggronite, Charizardite Y and Mewtwonite Y are Y exclusives.

If you really have to bother, Y has a slightly less retarded plot since the big villain is going to use the god of death to kill people instead of the god of life. I don't recommend playing either, though.

Just get one of the hacks that give it actual difficulty.
