Please the awful Akira Toriyama's character design no. The rest meh, the graphics more detailed and a dull palete, SM is beautiful for me but is a bit bright for my tastes.
Also more waifus like Olivia. Kahili Lusamine Acerola etc etc in the godly Game freak artstyle ( yes i think that game freak is good in something).

That's not Toriyama. It's his assistants. Toriyama stopped drawing seriously ages ago. Old Toriyama art was very stylized and characters were very detailed and toned. Now its just skinny fuccbois. Even fit characters from previous games were toned down in remakes. That said DQXI looks fantastic.

Yes, it's drawn by Toyotaro. He's known for drawing the Dragon Ball AF doujin with Xicor in it, but his Master Roshi chapter is pretty good. His art is better than that seen in the anime, but nothing comes close to classic Toriyama.

The same style XY and SM aimed for, most clearly seen in its battle models, but actually with the hardware to back it up. In other words, like the Sugimori art in motion. XY and SM did a commendable job especially with the shaders and battle models, though SM somehow fucked up the shaders and lighting with shader graphical errors and unfitting softglow effects when XY nailed it. Hopefully when it hits the Switch they can refine the character models further and improve the backgrounds a lot.
