So I've played through gen 7 (which I despised due to the terrible story) and I'm all caught up on my living dex so I'm bored with where I'm at in Sun.
I'm looking at buying either HeartGold/SoulSilver or Black/White so I still have something Pokemon to play.
I played Silver long ago and liked that game a lot so I'm leaning toward getting the remake. I've never played one of the gen 5 games (skipped over them somehow) but am interested in those games too.
I would appreciate yalls input on which to purchase. Which do you think would be more worthwhile? Which is your personal preference?

Black and white have a better main story but hg/ss has better post game.
If it helps: I'm not a huge fan of a complicated story in my pokemon games with a lot of unskipable dialogue (looking at you Sun/Moon)

What about the story made it enjoyable?

stop playing pokemon games

Eh, poor wording. I meant more along the lines of less dialogue in the story sections of the game. Such as gen 1 being pretty light on the dialogue you need to blaze through versus gens 3/7 being a slog I had to push to get through because of the slow down due to some bullshit I don't really care about. I prolly didn't explain that properly but oh well
Play BW, especially since you skipped it. It'll be a brand new experience.

b/w has a great story (for a pokeyman game). if you want a decent story, give it a go.

well besides the leveling and pokemon available being better than hg/ss there's actually character development in b/w and cut scenes that show when the development happening. yeah silver gets development but a lot of it is implied or off screen. bianca is one of my favorite characters in the game because she doesn't know what do do with her life or what she wants out of life and for someone in their twenties that can be really relatable
