That's called idle animation and this thread is to discuss more than that.

Pokémon that portrait themselves better in 3D have more in count than their idle position. Chestnaught's shield is an example how well thought the 3D can be used.

Chestnaught is a Pokémon planned to work well using 3D models. Something which would look bad as a sprite.

That's how you can judge models of Pokémon that didn't exist before gen VI and Chesnaught has more to it than an idle position.
