Man, GF really shot themselves in the leg with Gen V. All this time they've been talking about bonds and all that shit, and in BW's story they finally acknowledged the elephant in the room and started talking about Pokemon liberation and Pokemon being slaves and all that. Then BW2 comes out and they're like "You know what? Poke Balls are actually tools for brainwashing. None of that shit about bonds is actually true. You can just steal a Pokemon and turn it against its original trainer by catching it in a Poke Ball. Such is the fate of a Pokemon that is TRAPPED inside a Poke Ball".
Like, damn. They basically confirmed all the accusations about brainwashing and slavery, which means that the main villain in BW, Ghetsis, was actually right all along. What a fucking train wreck. No wonder GF is trying to sweep Gen V under the rug. What were they thinking?

Some Pokemon like to be with humans, others don't. Some die if they're not being taken care of by humans, others don't.
Almost like real life. I'm not sure how they shot themselves in the foot at all.

GameFreak loves retconning positive things, for some reason.
Remember how Gen 6 had "Mega Evolution is cool because only those with a strong bond and perform it and it superpowers the Pokemon!"
And then Gen 7 had "Mega Evolution causes extreme agony to the Pokemon and makes them into aggressive killing machines and a strong bond is required, but it only mildly suppresses the suffering. You horrible monster, you should be using Z-Moves instead."
Speaking of, Gen 8 will probably reveal that Z-Moves shorten a Pokemon's lifespan by 5 years each time one is used because of that Pokemon having to release extreme power in such a short time without even getting a new form more capable of handling it.

That would be fine with me. Hated Megas, hate Z-moves even more. These gimmicks don't fix the power creep; fixing old mons movepools, abilities, BSTs, does start to reduce it a bit.

Well that's just to imply a timeline. Gen 7 is after they learned more about Megas, gen 6 is when they just discovered megas. It's not that weird.

There's two sides to everything. Most Pokemon want to be with trainers, but anyone can be hot with stockholm syndrome. I like it.

Do you ever find the girl?
Did she dump him or die?
>>32265254
It seems to be implied she died in an accident of some kind.

When do they talk about megas in sm, post game?
>>32265664
I like to remove everything about SM from my memory if possible
>>32265664
When you receive the Alakazite.
>>32265879
That's how I feel about gen 4
>>32265931
But gen 4 was great? Again, not talking about vanilla here, feel like the need to clarify that.

Gen 5 makes me tear up. They really were great.
>>32265193
Except that's not true at all. Mega Stones were already discovered and in wide use back in Hoenn, which took place like ~8 years before XY.

Do not even argue with the timeline. it is a mess, just move on
