Gamefreak doesn't have a lot of experience with cutscenes.

They used to be common in games, now you always get control of your character while playing through an opening scene (consoles especially). Specifically because cutting into another scenes, losing control too many times over and over kills the experience of the game a lot.

GF wont make this mistake again.

I liked some of the cutscenes, but I'll admit stone of them ran too long. The worst example is probably the opening before you get your starter and the ending after beating the league. Other than those two nothing comes straight to mind in terms of too long cutscenes

Why though? There are alot of things to criticize SM for but the lack of a national dex is such a non-issue I fail to see why it's worthy of anything more then a shrug.
