Nope, just a normal(ish) playthrough and the team just kind of came together. Got a rom for Red and Crystal, was not enjoying red as much.

Started Crystal and went at it.
Picked Totodile.
Caught onix, heracross, and gastly.
Bread to get an Exeggcute with mega drain.
Traded over a charmander and killed maybe 100 Magnemite with thief to get a metal coat.
