2018: project for new gamefreak hirees finishes in May. That means this will be a year with no Pokémon games.
2019: March-April-ish Gen 8 launches for the switch
2020: DP remakes
2021: Is the 25th anniversary. Pikachu's dex number is 25. We'll get a sole special anniversary Yellow remake

What comes after that lord knows but it will still be highkey relevant. Especially since GO brought a lot of players back

Pokemon has crossed the generational gap. Once a franchise does that, it'll keep coming back in some form until Nintendo decides to kill it.
