This is sort of off-topic but there has got to be someone here with the answer.

What is the function of updating a game cart while in Pokemon Bank? I can't figure out what it does. I have tons of Pokemon in the Bank and when I put in one of my carts that I've barely played and that only has two Pokemon in it and "update" it, nothing happens. The in-game Pokedex doesn't change at all.

Google is worthless because all the hits are >New Pokemon Bank Update Allows You To (fill in the blank), etc.

What's a good offer for event legendaries these days? I haven't done wifi trades since gen V days.

Other events of course. Alternatively some highly trained mons and some shinies could do the trick if you're only looking for the mon (with whatever nature).
For a good nature event mon I would go with a difficult to obtain shiny mon, like you know, those with fucked up gender ratios like Combee , Primarina, Salazzle, female Eevees, Litleo male, etc.

Aside from that you would have to bargain to get some at a "cheaper" price with people with surplus of those. There's also people that don't care for them that much and also trade them "cheap" so basically to get them you would have to put your cards on the table and see if anyone is interested, if not you raise the offer until you deem it's not worthy or don't have more things.

So I've been out of the loop for a good while. I just popped in my Sun version to get the mega stone mystery gift but it made me download an update. Did they patch the ability to manipulate shiny eggs? Like saving the game, breeding a shit ton of Magikarp until you hatch a shiny, then reset and breed more up until 1 before the shiny and then pop in the desired shiny's parents?

I recently hatched a shiny Spinarak before I could give it egg moves. It's Jolly. Is it useable without egg moves or should I try to breed another? I was thinking of use Agility/Leach Life/Poison Jab/Sucker Punch or something maybe.

Easily. Make it a lead sticky webber. You'll miss out on Megahorn, but it's not so bad.

Maxmax it out in atk and speed and slap a sash on it and you got yourself a sticky web setter. There are better ones out there, of course, but still, it is Ariados and it does get access to Sticky Web.

I like a set that uses heavy priority to negate Ariados' speed tier. Sticky web, sucker punch, shadow sneak, and stab. I usually run mega horn with swarm, but poison stab is better than it has ever been and gives credence to running poison jab instead. What's its ability? If it's insomnia, it becomes a good team status absorber as it's immune to sleep and poison and it's slow enough that paralysis doesn't much matter.

X scissor isn't a bad option paired with a focus sash, but poison jab is a more relevant stab these days. I can't say weather or not you should change the ability. Who knows what Ariados will see with move tutors, it already got buffed this gen it may be likely to get some good moves and I can't say which ability will benefit more.


Also Honky the bump limit did not change, but that doesn't change my question about multi battles, even if this thread auto sages.
