I was disappointed by it too. I also did not buy it, my little sister got it from her boyfriend at Christmas. She didn't seem too interested, so I took it for a spin to see if the hype was real.

Is there a more recent number for this? It had only been 2 months since the game came out in December. Now it's been an additional 3 months. I want to see SM surpass XY in sales, becoming the top selling 3DS game so GF will make more like it.

I think that telling to the player what is effective and what is uneffective is a good idea for kid and new player. They should put an option for deactivate it if you're a veteran player.

Looking at some Pokemon game sales (third games excluded to keep comparison fair):
