They've added some good things to the formula. Fairy typing, megas, z-moves. But if sun and moon are any indication they're going to stuff in a short plot and an unsatisfying post game. i'm tired of shelling out what little free cash it have for these games. Give me a longer main game. I don't give a shit about competitive so there's little for me to do in the post game. I love the battle frontier in gen 4 but we all know that's not going to be in the remakes. The battle royal and tree? I can barely sit through them for ten minutes beofre i'm frustrated and want to do something else.

But HGSS were remakes. Johto, and Johto mons, the Johto music, the Johto Story, and the Johto aesthetics were all made in gen II. All IV did was add some post-game content and gave it better graphics and mechanics. HGSS isn't great because of the physical special split, it's great because Johto and the whole expierience is well-designed.

Gen V made some hideous design choices as far as graphics go. The moving sprites are gross. Overworked sprites look dumb when the camera is too close or too far. Areas only look good when they're static angles like Gen IV. The best part of BW1 is the music. Also

IV had a terrible EXP system that forced you to grind constantly unless you were using pseudos or some shit. You shouldnt have to grind for more than 2-3 levels in a Pokemon game.

Not true at all, Unova looks 10x than any part of Sinnoh. (Pic related). The close-up of sprites people always complain about barely EVER happens, and not only that, but Gen IV did the same exact thing. (remember the photo guy from hgss?)

Platinum is pretty bad objectively. The story is mediocre, the region is poorly and lazily designed, and it uses a terrible engine that causes battles to drag on for ridiculous amounts of time. And those are just the main problems, there are many other minor ones as well.
