I'm starting a fakemon dex. I have a few ideas I made years ago, but I first want to rule out generic and shitty ideas. So far I've got

I always wanted Seviper and Zangoose to get evolutions from battles with each other

Zangoose reduced to 1HP by a Poison move from Seviper evolves to a Normal/Ghost which is bound to the world by loyalty/need to protect its tribe, Seviper which has defeated a Zangoose with a Poison move evolves to a Poison/Dark genocide-warrior-snek which is known to hunt and eat entire populations of local Pokémon while ignoring other potential prey

Ha, I like that better than what it actually is. Its a flying fish and the "legs" are the bottom pair of fins. The "wings" are the ones with the 3 white bits on the end. I need to redo that pose.

Yeah these are too bland. Animal + Typing isn't a strong enough idea for any fakemon. You should try blending it with a different concept. Think of poisonous flammable things (maybe a snake drenched in oil with an oil drum aesthetic or something).
