I used to turn it off due to being impatient but now I keep it on for longevity.
I end up getting a lot more attached to the Pokemon when I'm forced to go through the game slowly instead of just rushing through, getting them as powerful as possible and ploughing through any challenge.

On for any game from Gen 5 onwards, off for gens 1 to 4. Especially 4. 4 is so god damn slow that you need the animations off to proceed through the game in some sort of timely fashion.

I never used to play Set, but after my first new Nuzlockes, I went to Set and never went back.

i only turn it off when i need to grind.

I leave it on during the main story, but when I complete the game and start grinding/EV training, I turn it off.
