>Grass/Flying
>Fire/Fighting

Did I fix them?
>>32163427
>>32163427
Water/Fairy is objectively retarded and everyone knows it. A sea lion should have been water/ice, not water/fairy because they live in extremely cold places.
You made Primarina infinitely worse. Decidueye is probably worse too since it's now a slow frail mixed attacker with even more weaknesses
Water/Sound
>>32163456
>Sea Lions
>Live in cold places
You're thinking of seals anon.
>>32163456
>objectively
>everyone knows
>>32163427
Why the hell is Decidueye a ghost type in the first place?
>inb4 extinct owl headcannon
I guess Meganium should be a ghost type too.
>>32163456
It lives in Alola smart guy
>>32163483
To make it less boring I guess
>>32163456
Sirens are pretty common in fairy stories, also you're confusing seals with sea lions
The typings are just another cycle of rock paper scissors logic.
Fairy being so exclusive in type weaknesses hurts them for this.
Fairy/Water>Fire/Dark>Grass/Ghost but then Ghost isn't se to fairy. So the loop ends. They got it as close as they could without changing every type.
>>32163427
>Heel Pokemon
>Anything but Dark type
>Mermaid Pokemon
>Anything but Fairy type
No
>>32163483
Because it has shadow/darkness elemental powers
Sableye isn't literally a ghost either, it's Ghost for the same reason Decidueye is
>>32163655
Calling the fighting type design a heel and a dark type is just a pathetic and transparent excuse to make a fighting type pokemon and you know it.
>>32163662
That's not the case, because Incineroar being a dirty fighter (which it is, because of Throat Chop) is stated in the concept art that leaked all the way back in June.
It was designed from the very beginning to be a Dark type.
>>32163427
Grass/flying is the only fesable one since the ghost typing isn't really well explained in Decidueyes dex entry or any other description about it.
Fire/fighting,although a strong offensive typing, doesn't fit Incineroars description of being a dirty fighter, using tricks and cheap tactics to overpower its opponents, like how most dark type pokemon fight.
Water ice wouldn't make too much sense since Alola is a tropical region, where the only snowy place in the entire region happens on one mountain that is thousands of meters above any source of water.it also doesn't make sense in a thematic standpoint since Primarina is based on selkies, which are mythological seal like mermaids who have many connections to songs.
TL;DR: the only change that makes sense is decidueye.
>another fire/fighting starter
>>32163456
Both seals and sea lions can be found in warm seas and oceans. In fact, there is a species of seal that is native of Hawaii.
>>32163456
Water/Steel is objectively retarded and everyone knows it. A penguin should have been water/ice, not water/steel because they live in extremely cold places.
>>32163427
>fire/fighting
Oh great, like we haven't had one of those before
>>32163810
>>32163857
Fuck off it's a good typing
>>32163872
And it makes sense for the three Pokemon that have it, but not Incineroar.
>Blaziken - A Kung-Fu chicken
>Infernape - Son Goku
>Emboar - A Chinese soldier
>Incineroar - A heel
>>32163456
It makes perfect sense for Primarina to be water/fairy with it not only being a mermaid, but a siren at that. Both of which are mythological creatures, like fairies.
If any water starter should've been water/ice, its Empoleon.
>>32163841
This is the most autistic argument i've seen all week
>>32163908
I agree that Fire/Dark is the best one, but you could make a case for Fire/Fighting. Hell, if it wasn't for the fire theme Incineroar would probably by a Dark/Fighting type.
>fire/ground
Did I fix it?
>>32163933
Way worse actually

You managed to make them worse. Go fix yourself.
>>32163483
Guys I think I got it
I think Decidueye may be based off, in addition to Robin Hood, Stolas from the Ars Goetia
Things about Stolas
>A prince of hell (one of 7)
>teacher of astronomy
>teacher of poison/herbalism
>traditionally depicted as a raven but also sometimes depicted as an owl
>commands 26 legions of hell
>at least Castlevania interperets it as a necromancer
Coincidence?
>>32166125
You forgot to completely redesign them, since they're aesthetically some of the worst Pokemon ever.
>>32163655
>Implying mermaids can only be fairy types
>>32166125
>hurr durr let's slap Dark on it because it's black
Nothing about Emboar's design or concept says Dark, you'd have to completely redesign it in order for it to work as a Dark type
>>32166492
>hurr durr let's slap Dark on it because it's black
Nothing about Incineroar's design or concept says Dark, you'd have to completely redesign it in order for it to work as a Dark type
>>32163872
For you
>>32166883
>Nothing about Incineroar's design or concept says Dark
We saw it's concept sheet months ago and that's exactly what it said.
>>32163427
You have ruined them
Decidueye admittedly makes more sense as a flying type.
Incineroar is a heel wrestler, in other words an actor who acts as a bad guy so not fighting.
Primarina is a mermaid.
>>32166492
The character Emboar is based on is literally a human eating lecher
>>32166883
>Nothing about Incineroar's design or concept says Dark
Except for the part where it's a Heel.
And that it tends to be fairly violent to the point of ignoring orders
As well as the color combo.
>>32166975
No?
>>32163456
I remember some dumbass that made a thread saying Primarina was Water/Ice shorty before the starter final evolutions trailer dropped. I bet you're him.
>>32163427
>>32166975
According to Sugimori, Emboar was based on a soldier from the Chinese novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms.
It just happened to be a pig, it had nothing to do with Zhu Bajie.
>>32165409
>Coincidence?
Yes
>>32163427
Decidueye is the only one with a shit Typing.
>>32163661
It can easily be interpreted as a ethereal creature akin to Gengar though.
Decidueye doesn't give that vibe at all.
>>32166125
God... you just can't win with the final evolutions in Gen 5, huh? Oh well, I boxed them anyways.
fixed
>>32163661
I don't see it at all. Decidueye trying to be sneaky and stealthy or some shit shouldn't make it a ghost
They just had to show or tell that Decidueye could maybe phase in and out or sink into the shadows. Maybe it's arrows would be projected spirit energy. But they jut couldn't pass up feather arrows and it's really never depicted as being anything than a normal physically grounded bird.
Then again it's Pokedex entry mentions it being fast. I don't think there was much correlation between this Pokemon's design/concept and it's in game performance.
>>32169070
>Then again it's Pokedex entry mentions it being fast.
The Pokedex mentions nothing about the Rowlet being fast, just that they're quiet and stealthy.
>>32169092
Oh sorry, you are right.
I was thinking of this:
http://www.pokemon-sunmoon.com/en-us/pokemon/decidueye/
>Its speed is astonishing
Nothing here indicates anything spirit like about the Pokemon ether though.
>>32163483
Owls are considered guardian spirits in Hawaiian culture.
They could have implemented it way better, I admit. That shit came out of nowhere.
>>32171645
owls were considered the harbingers of death in england c. king James era. The reference is totally misplaced but ghost type decidueye makes sense otherwise
>>32171703
actually no, that's the raven. the owls were the spirit MESSENGERS, my bad.
>>32169092
quick on the draw maybe
>>32163908
>Infernape - Son Goku
Infernape is the monkey king who was made from rock and controls several different elements.
There's more of a case for rock/psychic, fairy or even flying than fire fighting
