Also speaking of starters, all the gen 2 starters have a bad case of it just gets bigger. That combined with them being a pure type makes them the most boring and worst set of starters. They all look like shit.

I think Mienfoo and Mienshao hit a good balance of "just gets bigger" while still looking distinguished from each other. I see Mienfoo as a young and eager fighter and after long and hard training, becomes Mienshao, a wise, seasoned martial arts user.

That's the rationalization I use for why Mienfoo evolves so late, but I still hate how long it takes.
