I think the really weird one is Emerald being half an hour longer than Ruby/Sapphire, sure there's a few extra areas like Magma Hideout and the Sky Pillar being mandatory before the league, and the cutscene in Sootopolis, but does that really add half an hour to the run?

When I tried to get a trainer card with nice digits in S/M it would take between 12-15 minutes after each reset to get my first Pokemon. Gave that up pretty quickly.

I didn't love them but I definitely don't have the break random objects with a baseball bat level of rage over them like most of /vp/. Recently replayed Sun and the cutscenes at most were a minor inconvenience, especially in the beginning because it's telling how the play a game I've been playing for almost 20 years.

Mainly it's for replayability

Like, even on your first playthrough, after an hour or two, you start thinking "okay when can I actually play the game" on the less interesting cutscenes. If you try a second playthrough, where you've already seen everything interesting, it's just a long long time sitting through cutscene hell.

I really liked the cutscenes. Since BW I wanted Pokémon to become a more cinematic experiece.

Yes, it makes the game feel slower and kinda boring if you want to replay it, but the first time that I played Moon it was one of my best experiences with the franchise.

I would like to see some long cutscenes like the ones from Metal Gear in future games.
