I really like the idea of a region based in the Pacific Northwest. Specifically Washington State.
I came up with some ideas for starters and I'd love if we got creative with this.
Anyways, the starters would be a Black Bear, Western Rattlesnake, and Beaver.
>Bear: Grass -> Grass/Rock -> Grass/Rock
>Snake: Fire -> Fire/Ground -> Fire/Ground
>Beaver: Water -> Water -> Water/Electric
The Bear would be a Physical Tank/Wall with moves like Slack Off, Stealth Rock, Wood Hammer, Leech Seed, etc.
The Snake would be a Fast Mixed Glass Cannon with moves like EQ, Earth Power, Fire Blast, Flare Blitz, Coil, etc.
The Beaver would be a Special Tank with moves like Hydro Pump, Surf, Scald, TBolt, Volt Switch, etc.

I like the region idea, but not the starters.
The bear could be retyped, snake typing is a bit eh and a beaver shouldn't conduct electricity.

An eastern africa/red gulf/middle east region plus madagascar
Australia maybe-there's desert and tropical areas in the north and cold areas in the south
Latin america too- with Atacama desert and Andes range and that one lake in that one landlocked country
Just not the US.

I think a Peru/Chile/Bolivia would be a good idea.
- A floripondio based grass starter (evolves into a Grass/Fairy)
- A stylish guanaco as the first quadrupedal fire starter (evolves into a Fire/Ground)
- A bulky sea lion as the water starter (evolves into a Water/Fighting)
- Local bird MUST be a condor.

I would love an African region considering how much detail is put into designs.
