Litten is the overwhelming fan-favorite for girls; Incineroar will be very controversial for that alone.

My girlfriend picked Litten and I've been having a hard time staying tight-lipped about it. I really don't think she'll like it.

No, Popplio's not a clown. Popplio's just being marketed as the pretty obvious "for girls" mon and being a more general performer that does various cutesy, crowd gathering deeds. As if bubble making, dancing and singing isn't already something that might attract them. It's written all over the seal's face. Stuff it with frills and dress it up as a cute little pop idol mermaid and presto, you've got the perfect cutesy mon for little girls and indirectly for that "kind" of crowd too, even if unintentional. It's as forced as it can be.

You can see Popplio in whichever way you want, but Popplio is not and will never be any kind of clown. And no, it's not because it's got a big bulbous pink snot that's gonna make it more of a clown, clowns have red noses.

Back then, that was also inspired from the type icons previously found in the website (the infamous find). But that didn't stop people from making only Water/Fighting masculine evos, rather, there were several creations that were also Water/Psychic and Water/Fairy as well by several artists, so Water/Fighting fan evolutions weren't exclusive either.
