It's to do with how defensive a lot of us are. The instant Gen. V receives any complaint they jump the gun and start insulting other generations to, instead of actually combating what was said, make Gen. V appear better by comparison.

There's also a big complex some have that liking it means you have "superior taste", which is silly.


It's my favourite generation and I'll continue to love it but so long as everybody's having fun and enjoying their respective things then I'm content.

I mean 99% of the pokemon fans speculate about the new pokemon or what new species would they like too see in the new generation.

I see where you're coming from but just because it seems quite a few unova pokemon were inspired by kanto pokemon doesn't mean they aren't original and fun in their own way. That's like saying you shouldn't be able to have more then one pokemon of a species, you can do a lot with a concept.

They're unreasonable. Not necessarily obnoxious like most other fags, but they just can't be reasoned with. They can't take criticism towards Generation V. For example, BW had shit postgame. That idea is just unthinkable to them. They can't see the obvious flaws, and defend it by being just delusional.

Personally, I also hate how N receives the praise of being the best written character in Pokemon, despite being almost as bad as Ash. The other thing that pisses me off is how they think BW had the best story of any piece of Pokemon media, but I can't blame them for that too much. Despite its flaws, it was still the best we had up until that point, better than anything that came in the 14 years before it.

Good taste. Personally I preffer muk myself, especially with the alolan variation, but garbodor is pretty good. Trash monsters are a idea I love and trubbish and garbodor are pretty creative. My only complaint is I don't really like the pink and blue things in garbodor. I wish they were another drab color to go with the rest of it.

Well the first thing to do, really, is just to ask yourself what it was that you were disappointed in with the Pokemon and then single it out. For example, if you're disappointed because you believe it ruined the pre-evolutions in the line - just momentarily detach them from the line and start evaluating it on its own, "What does this design bring to the Pokemon world that no other Pokemon does?" as opposed to "How does this Pokemon compare to what came before it?" for example.

Once you've recognised exactly what it is that makes you sad with the particular designs in their own merit, start looking to how that particular thing may be perceived by other people. When you see them the way that others do; you might start to notice that the previous flaws might just have been overplayed - that it was an obligation to you or perhaps just something that you can appreciate in terms of how it's making others happy. Keep doing this and eventually you'll stop seeing it as "I don't like ____'s ____!" and start to say to yourself "Hey, ____'s ____ is a nice little thing for fans of ____."

Ultimately though, there'll always be Pokemon that you just can't enjoy for whatever reason and you shouldn't try to force yourself into doing so. As long as you're nice to the fans of them and take the time to figure out why their fans exist, it's all good.

Gen is short for generation, when referring to a specific gen, you add a number, which makes it a specific gen, and when it becomes specific, it's a title, making it a pronoun. Pronouns are people, places, or things, and are always capitalized. You wouldn't say masuda. It's the same.

I'm sorry, how are they being unreasonable OR defensive? I'm ok with gen 5. I don't hate/Love it, just Zekrom. My favorite gen would be gen 4, and even I can see that the GenWunner is the unreasonable one.
