So, from what I found looking around, you don't live in a good place for starters in general. I've found a few Squirtle / Totodile near rivers, and one solitary Cyndaquil in central Stockholm. Uppsala has almost nothing at all. Your best bet to find one is to go along rivers, restaurants districts with a lot of stops, and as for Chikorita, I'm convinced they don't exist near you.

Do not take websites' advice on 'optimal' movesets. It is indeed Outrage, defensively. Offensively, it's either the legacy set Dragonbreath/Dragon Claw, or Dragon Tail/Hurricane. DB/DC is very strong and very safe, so wins are likely because you can attack and dodge on the fly. DT/O does a LOT of damage, but Outrage is a risky move offensively. Hurricane is fast and STAB powered so for all new Dragonites it's safe and strong.

Gyms have memory leak issues all over the place and do slow down phones. He probably just doesn't have enough RAM.

Also there's a memory leak with connections. If you keep dropping connections while the game is running or you switch between wifi nodes all the time, the game is going to slow down like a motherfucker because that's another memory leak w.r.t. networking sockets so you need to restart often if you have a spotty connection. But if restarting isn't saving him, he just needs a newer phone.

Tyranitar is only trash if you roll anything with fire blast, or Iron Tail/Stone Edge. The other two bite sets are great offensively, and IT/C is a monster to deal with defensively. Here's a fun fact; a fully powered up defensive Blissey with the optimal moveset can kill a fully powered Machamp/Heracross in 20-30 seconds (and ALMOST die) but a Bite/Crunch offensive TTar can kill it with seconds remaining.

I autistically dont like using max potions on prestige mons. Sometimes I'd blow through 30 max potions training gyms on pokemon that only needed 50HP

I used to be rather neutral about spoof faggots until they started strangleholding my town in nothing but Valor. I don't think spoofing is a big thing around where I live.

My biggest concern with gyms is my tendency to run out of potions, which leads to me going into battle with mons that have only had a revive for breakfast.

Cheaters who snipe Pokémon from various places all over the world will have a record of their cheating if they snipe a snorlax in Japan and then a lavitar in California two hours later.

Location is based on spawn point, not where you've walked when you finally end up catching it.

This has been known since day 1, when you could still see the map be displayed under each pokemon. It was easily confirmed back then, and never really questioned. People would encounter a pokemon, forget about it, and then catch it once they've gone home. Location was where they first encountered, not their house.

what do you guys think about these ideas that will never happen:

instead of TMs/HMs, have move tutors. The tutors are your team leaders and will train pokemon in specific moves (or maybe just a second re-roll, if that's easier to program) if you visit a gym that is controlled by your team. Some people have suggested a candy cost for re-rolling moves but the tutor idea might make gym turnaround better/faster as there is now a more tangible benefit to having your team control a gym (beyond the coins, of course). maybe have a 1/day cooldown.

species clause on attackers. see above. might make taking gyms more difficult but also maybe more interesting, as this eliminates that "strategy" of a team of 6 vapes/eggs.

Iron/Protein/Carbos/etc. Maybe these cost coins, maybe they're rare drops. They would permanently increase the IVs of a certain stat.

Scale stardust costs for powering up with max CP. For the sake of argument, let's say that nothing is increased in cost. but powering up shit-mons like Raticate would become incredibly cheap (so that people might actually do it without feeling stupid). This might lead to more effective prestigers or, at the least, more variation in attackers and defenders that you might see.

I'd be fine with this is typically bulky stuff like Steelix and Slowbro(king) had their CPs raised.
