can you continue down through the cave despite not fighting riccardo? if i recall, they removed riccardo because that wouldnt be where you fight him in the final product.

if you cant find riccardo and cant access downward cave, try going to the coal mines.

Ricardo isn't in the second town in the newer versions of the demo.
